1975 was the year when the summer blockbuster became a thing due to “Jaws”. Other classics of that year were “One Flew Over a Cuckoo’s Nest”, and “The Rocky Horror Picture Show”. Yet, amongst those films that shined, many shouldn’t have even been made.
Here are 16 of the worst movies from 1975. Watch them if you dare.
1. Crazy Mama

As an action-comedy, it fails to deliver in several areas. The plot is uninspiring and the actors lack energy and charisma. Even Angie Dickinson fails to provide any spark or depth to her character. What was considered comedic good back in 1975 may be seen as offensive nowadays.
2. The Giant Spider Invasion

If bad B-movie horror flicks are your thing, then you may want to watch this film. The special effects are laughable. See how many holes and inconsistencies you can find in the plot (there are plenty). Top that off with bad dialogue and wooden acting.
3. Mitchell

Here is a movie that exemplifies everything wrong in filmmaking: lousy editing, shoddily cinematography, an actor who speaks in a monotone, and an incoherent script.
4. Lucky Lady

Though it had some big-name stars in the movie such as Lisa Minnelli and Burt Reynolds, the chemistry between the characters failed to happen. Also, many who have watched this film are confused if it’s an action, comedy, or romance.
5. A Girl Called Katie Tippel

Here is a stinker of a movie from Paul Verhoeven who went on to direct more respectable movies such as “Robocop” and “Total Recall”. Katie Tippel fails due to the unsympathetic characters and uneven tone throughout the film.
6. The Black Bird

As a remake of “The Maltese Falcon”, Black Bird relied a lot on references to the original which left people criticizing it as unoriginal. The film’s attempt at parody didn’t go down well with fans who enjoyed the serious tone of “The Maltese Falcon”. A plot that lacks intrigue is another reason why this movie is bad.
7. Give ‘em Hell Harry

Here is a movie that some love and others loathe. It’s a one-man monologue about the life of Harry Truman. Can you bear watching a guy talking for an hour and forty-four minutes? It certainly is a film that appeals to a small subset of individuals.
8. The Specialist

It’s a thriller that, well, fails to thrill. A convoluted script with implausible scenarios and actors that have no emotion makes this one stinker of a movie. The pacing switches from slow to fast to slow like a rollercoaster gone wrong.
9. The Devil Within Her

This could be a study of what not to do for a horror film. Despite having Joan Collins in it, she couldn’t even help this film because it’s too campy. The storyline, as tragic as it is being based around an infant, creates unintentional humor and acting that is cringe-worthy.
10. The Strongest Man in the World

Superheroes are amazing, yet this offering from Disney is missing that awesomeness. The script takes a color-by-numbers approach which results in a formulaic movie. The slapstick comedy can be irritating and, for some viewers, unnecessary. Another reason this film can be placed in the trash pile is because of the one-dimensional characters who have no depth.
11. Escape to Witch Mountain

This is another Disney movie that failed to deliver for many people. The plot is predictable and the special effects are somewhat laughable. Then there are the actors that are reading straight from the script. Escape watching this movie while you can.
12. Bug

Some B-grade movies should be pushed down to Z-grade because they are that terrible. “Bug” is one of those, a horror film about a lady who thinks she is stalked by insects. The storyline is confusing and implausible. There is no empathy for the characters, so if they get attacked by the bugs, who cares? Then there is the campiness of the entire movie that makes it more of a comedy than a horror.
13. Carry On Behind

The “Carry On” franchise of movies was always bad and appealed to mainly a small group of British fans. “Carry On Behind” is one of those films that should have been left on the cutting room floor. The humor is lowbrow and repetitive. All the characters are stereotypically stereotypical. The result is an awful movie.
14. Capone

Al Capone is one character that many fear as well as kinda respect. This film focuses on the later years of his life and the deterioration of his mental health. It’s a disjointed story that leaves the audience wondering what is happening. The surreal effects that represent Capone’s hallucinations are confusing. Top that with a slow-paced script and you have a movie that you don’t want to watch.
15. Sudden Fury

This movie had the possibility of being a great movie. The plot is plausible, yet a low production budget means that it could never its potential. The sets and special effects aren’t great and neither is the acting. The Sudden Fury may come from those who watch this disappointment from 1975.
16. French Connection II

The original “French Connection” was amazing, but the sequel isn’t. The pacing isn’t as fast as the first movie, so it’s not as exhilarating. The movie also lacks freshness as it’s repetitive in some themes and plot elements. It seems that not many people connected with the French side of things the second time around.
