18 TV Famous Characters That Are Impossibly Annoying

Annoying characters can make or break a show. Sometimes, we love to hate them, but there are odd occasions when we can’t wait to see their backs. Let’s delve into 18 of the most annoying TV characters that we compelled producers to kill off.

Ross Geller, Friends

While David Schwimmer’s Ross was an integral character in this multiple award-winning sitcom, we couldn’t help but wince at that childlike tone and immature whining. Man up, Geller.

Andy Bernard, The Office

The show is a real-life depiction of a working office, so we’re supposed to have many irritating characters. However, Andy Bernard’s arrogance and desire for attention made him plain annoying, and he started to grate on us after a few episodes.

Darrin Stevens, Bewitched

The sweet-natured witch Samantha became such a beloved TV character that viewers became disgruntled at her husband’s constant skepticism, which was a major turn-off. His wife was a witch, so he needed to man up and embrace her peculiar talents. Samantha deserved better.

Screech, Saved By The Bell

Screech was a love-or-hate character, but many found his squeaky voice, exaggerated nerdiness, and continual clumsiness just too over the top.

Skyler White, Breaking Bad

Her complex character added vital substance to the show, but her apparent disdain for her husband and lack of emotion made her a target of hate. Perhaps we were so caught up with Walter and Jessie that Skyler was an inconvenience, but she certainly wasn’t easy to like.

Andrea, The Walking Dead

Her endless complaints and fixed sour face prompted fans of the show to welcome her exit with open arms. Her self-indulgence made her a needle in our sides, and we urged a zombie to eat her.

Cameron Tucker, Modern Family

He had to steal the show in every scene, and while that worked for some fans of the character, for the rest of it, it felt like fingernails on a chalkboard. Those dramatic outbursts became insanely aggravating.

Diane Chambers, Cheers

Diane Chambers was just too condescending to be likable in the show, which served as a platform for several leading Hollywood actors. Her constant put-downs needed dampening with a touch more vulnerability.

Nikki and Paolo, Lost

Though their storyline ultimately amounted to a certain amount of justification, the journey towards it was painful to watch. Their constant whining and questionable presence made their demise a fan-favorite episode.

Roseanne Conner, Roseanne

Roseanne Barr made this show a 90s hit along with movie great John Goodman, but there’s no denying that her grating voice, abrasiveness, and perma-sneer became a bit on the jarring side. Her stint in politics was annoying, too.

Kim Bauer, 24

Fans of the show lost the will to live with Kim’s constant ill-fated decisions, which landed her in impossible situations. Thankfully, her renegade father was able to jump to her rescue every time. It was no surprise that Kim was named the dumbest person on TV.

Harry Solomon, Third Rock From The Sun

We’ve all got a soft spot for childlike qualities, but when they’re thrown at us endlessly, they start to become annoying. There’s only so much cluelessness a person can take.

Janice Litman, Friends

Her voice was tough on the ear. We learned to lower the volume when she entered the scene in anticipation of her famous boyfriend beckoning. Add to that her eternal bid to win back Chandler, and we need her out of there.

Ted Mosby, How I Met Your Mother

Ted’s insufferable ways and desperation to meet the one became painful over time. The producer’s lack of investment in bettering his character made Ted one of the most annoying characters ever.

Piper Chapman, Orange Is The New Black (OITNB)

It’s hard to say whether Piper was as annoying, whiney, and entitled as she appeared or was merely a victim of the rich characters surrounding her. It was one of the few shows where you tuned in for everyone but the largely disliked protagonist.

Janice Soprano, Sopranos

Fans were so invested in every aspect of Soprano that the introduction of Tony Soprano’s sister, Janice, was met with little enthusiasm. With a selfishness that knew no bounds, an array of bad relationship choices, and a shrill voice, it was nice to see the back of her.

Grace, Will And Grace

When they threw comedic geniuses Jack and Karen into the scene and coupled them with Will’s likable devil-may-care persona, Grace ended up falling flat, sadly. She lacked personality and warmth, and her poor choices ultimately stole the shine from the show.

Dawson Leery, Dawsons Creek

In all of its cringey glory, Dawson’s Creek was a 90s hit that catapulted Katie Holmes, Joshua Jackson, and Michelle Williams to fame. James Van Der Beek, on the other hand, played the insufferable nice guy who looked bad when he cried.
