16 Films From Hollywood’s Hall of Shame, According to IMDB

For every Hollywood masterpiece, there’s a film that just doesn’t exactly hit the same high notes. Today, we’re looking at exactly those! Here are 18 films from Hollywood’s Hall of Shame that, according to IMDB, are the worst films of all time.

Birdemic: Shock and Terror

A movie about birds taking revenge on humans for damaging the environment sounds interesting, right? Unfortunately, its execution in “Birdemic: Shock and Terror” is nothing like that. With a special effects budget lower than that of a high school AV club, you’ll end up rooting for the birds out of sheer sympathy.

Manos: The Hands of Fate

“Manos: The Hands of Fate” is exactly what happens when ambition meets zero film-making skills. The actors delivering their lines seem just as bored as the audience! It’s a unique mix of unintentional comedy and an utterly confusing plot that’ll make you question your life choices up to that moment.

The Hottie & The Nottie

In “The Hottie & The Nottie,” Paris Hilton tries to teach us about inner beauty. However, the movie bulldozes any useful take on physical attractiveness with the subtlety of a wrecking ball. This rom-com stumbles over its own feet, trying to deliver laughs and lessons, but only serves up confusion and second-hand embarrassment.

Superbabies: Baby Geniuses 2

“Superbabies: Baby Geniuses 2” is the sequel no one asked for! Sure, this film is ambitious – it’s about a world where toddlers can use technology in ways that defy logic. However, the final result is more of a diaper disaster than an intelligent comedy. We have no idea how it ended up getting yet another sequel.

Saving Christmas

Kirk Cameron tries to make us feel the holiday spirit with a story that tries to change the season’s meaning. Unfortunately, the movie features a ton of ‘tell-don’t-show’ moments and dramatized interpretations that leave you completely confused. The complexity of the plot completely buries any sense of cohesion in this dreadful film.

Disaster Movie

Ironically living up to its name, “Disaster Movie” is a calamity of cinematic proportions. It tries to parody popular films but ends up as a parody of itself, with humor that misses more than it hits. The only real disaster in this movie is the fact that it actually got made. Did anybody find this even remotely funny?

Epic Movie

Similarly, “Epic Movie” is another attempt to spoof the blockbuster genre. However, the movie actually ends up being an epic failure because it never makes you laugh. It’s not just us who think so – on Rotten Tomatoes, it has a score of 29% from the audience and a measly 2% from critics. Don’t waste your time!

House of the Dead

“House of the Dead” is yet another video game film adaptation. However, unlike some of the better adaptations, this one didn’t quite make a successful leap from console to screen. It’s a zombie film that lacks both brains and heart, proving that not all games can make it to the movie theater.

Son of the Mask

We all know that sequels often struggle to capture the magic of their original movies. However, “Son of the Mask” does far worse than simply struggle – it falls face-first into the abyss. The movie tries to fill Jim Carrey’s shoes with a baby and a dog but somehow forgets to be funny. Some masks are better left unfound!

Pledge This!

In “Pledge This!” the exploration of sorority life quickly becomes a series of misadventures that neither educate nor entertain. The attempts at edgy comedy fall flat and the plot is riddled with so many inconsistencies that you’ll find yourself looking for the nearest exit. It’s a caricature of college life that does the worst thing a comedy can do – be boring.

Battlefield Earth

“Battlefield Earth” launches with the promise of interstellar mystery. However, soon enough, it descends into complete garbage. What the filmmakers wanted to do is very different from what they actually ended up doing, leaving a tale that struggles to find solid footing. No wonder it was both a critical and commercial failure!

Alone in the Dark

Here we have yet another video game film adaptation – and just like the others, this one is also terrible. It tries to convince you that it’s a suspenseful and scary film. Unfortunately, this poor attempt at mixing darkness and mystery just leaves you wanting to pull the plug on this awful movie.

Dragonball: Evolution

Adapting a beloved anime like “Dragonball: Evolution” was always going to be a challenge. However, this adaptation fails on all levels. It ended up diluting the rich lore and iconic characters into a shadow of their potential that neither fans nor newcomers to the franchise enjoyed.

Foodfight!

“Foodfight!” explores a world where supermarket brand mascots come alive after dark. It sounds like the perfect set-up for a movie, and maybe it would be – if it were in the hands of different filmmakers. The ugly animation, coupled with a story that struggles to find its footing, does more harm than good.

From Justin to Kelly

“From Justin to Kelly” tried to make its reality TV stars even more famous by casting them in a musical romance. However, the film’s leads lack any chemistry, while the musical numbers drift rather than dazzle. The only good thing this film does is prove that 15 minutes of fame is more than enough for some people.

Going Overboard

On the positive side, “Going Overboard” was Adam Sandler’s debut film performance. On the negative side, we’re really not sure how this launched his career. It completely struggles to deliver the comedy that it promises, with jokes that rarely hit its mark and a storyline that wanders without a clear direction.
